Just saw the 3 episode OVA .Hack // Quantum. Have to say, it's easily probably the best out of all the animated incarnations of .hack I've seen. Instead of being often boring or horribly slow paced we get a nice treat of good animation, likable characters and a story that concludes in a reasonable time frame. If anything I'd say it might be a little too short.
Of course it being .hack, some people end up in a coma. But it's in a lot more fun fashion than the previous installments of the Lost Ones, to be honest there are actually a few surprising turns here and there I didn't see coming, as well as a few revelations to the status of some of the characters from previous story lines, even a reference to .hack//cell (I think) as well as either a retcon to returner or establishing Ovan remained very much dead / comatosed at the end of GU.
No idea how it connects to Link outside the reference of an unseen party. Data Drain got hit with the nerf stick however (quite literally). I'm interested in seeing how this might match up to the film.
