The Zach Snyder directed, Christopher Nolan produced Superman: Man of Steel, has been pushed back to June 14, 2013. The film was originally scheduled for a December 2012 release, but WB has made the decision to push it back as Dec. is filled with competition. Among that is WB's own The Hobbit: An Unexpeted Journey, Tarantino's Django Unchained, Disney's The Lone Ranger, and Fox's Life of Pi. As of right now, June is pretty clear in terms of competition, so Superman: Man of Steel was able to lock in it's ideal spot for the summer first. Iron Man 3 is set to be released May 3, 2013, and Thor 2 is set to be released in July. The Playlist |

I hate that it has. But I understand that a lot of people will want to see The Hobbit.
Also Star Trek sequel is out around the same time.

Star Trek 2 hasn't had a confirmed release date yet and they really haven't started production on it either. So who knows when it will come out. If it's Dec. 2012....that's kinda rushed.
