Right. I think both are top notch in their own right. I suppose Reed has the advantage of his powers whereas Lex is handicapped by his humanity. Either way I would rank Lex only one to two notches below. He has demonstrated knowledge of just about every scientific field possible, is an extremly skilled schemer, and is perhaps the smartest human in the DC Universe.

I can fully get behind that statement.
I know Captain Atom is below him as well, I just wonder how far. What about Batman? Where would we rank Lex?

Batman and Lex would likely be in the same league or near it. Thought I do believe Batman beats him in tactics while Lex is superior is scientific and basic knowledge.

I would place Reed Richards in the Cosmic Range. He created an Anti-Galactus Armor and the Negative Zone Portal. Armor that can stand up to Galactus would be quite impressive and one of a kind. The Super Skrull said that Reed Richards was the only person to create a portal to the Negative Zone. Both of these feats have not been replicated by any person in the universe.
I would put him at maybe 25.

@crom: But where to put them? I know that Lex and Batman are damn smart but just how smart? Also we hit the same snag with Bruce as we would with Stark. Stark is the most brilliant in his field in Marvel U, but his area of expertise is engineering. Though he has shown clear brilliance in other fields as well. The point I was not really getting around to is that even if Bruce is smarter than Lex in one area, he still would be ranked lower because he range of brilliance is limited to one or a few fields whereas Lex is just about all fields.

I'd put Bruce as a 22 and Lex as a 23 personally by my understanding of the rankings.

I just realized that 24, 26, and 28 do not have descriptions for the ranks.

Whatever rank you put Reed at I would put Lex one or two below him and Bruce and Tony one or two below that.

If we put Reed at 25 then we could put Lex at 23 and Bruce and Tony at 21?

I would personally put Bruce and Lex at 18, maybe 19 or so. While they're both insanely smart, I don't really get a "one of the best in the galaxy" vibe from them.

Lex is one of the best in the galaxy at his fields so is batman.

If we put Reed at 25 then we could put Lex at 23 and Bruce and Tony at 21? I just have a hard time accepting that Stark is that far below Reed.

Personally I'd say Reed-24 Lex-23 Bruce 22 Tony-21

Why would you rank Bruce higher than Stark?

Reed built a suit of armor to fight Galactus, every armor that Tony has ever built to fight specific people have failed to complete their objectives. Thorbuster and Hulkbuster armors did not allow him to bust either. Reed beat Tony at his own game.

Stark and Bruce should not be above Meta status.

Why would you rank Bruce higher than Stark? Because he's shown better planning and tactical intelligence constantly in my opinion. He also has a broader general knowledge and he's better at thinking on his feet.

Reed built a suit of armor to fight Galactus, every armor that Tony has ever built to fight specific people have failed to complete their objectives. Thorbuster and Hulkbuster armors did not allow him to bust either. Reed beat Tony at his own game. Thorbuster armor uses magic, something most big brains have a hard time wrapping their mind around. The Hulkbuster armor is a poor example to bring up. Hulk has incalculable strength levels, the armor clearly does not. Every time Stark built a Hulkbuster, it was to deal with the previously calculated power levels of Hulk.

I would actually put Forge at the same level as Reed through the use of his powers because he was able to find a way around Wanda's magic.
