Power Grids: Reaction Speed This is the grid discussion based on Reaction Speed feats. Reaction Speed can be estimated by comparing the examples on the grid to published feats Something to bear in mind however when we discuss the feats of characters is that there is a argument to be made for characters reacting to body movements / actions of slower moving opponents e.g. a human moving to point a handgun at Spiderman. Thus the character does not really dodge the projectile but simply stays ahead of the 'shooters' tracking. The image below lists the breakdown of Reaction Speed, by providing examples of attacks that can be dodged. It also states (just for info) how many times faster than a normal humans reactions this actually is. Please feel free to post feats but try to make them ones that can be quantified. If required I can and will (with your help) attempt to estimate the Reaction Speed feat. As always I go first to help set the stage Compiled List Rank 1 Aunt May Rank 2 Rank 3Rank 4Rank 5Rank 6 Rank 7Rank 8Rank 9Rank 10 Rank 11 Rank 12 Rank 13Rank 14 Rank 15Rank 16 Rank 17 Rank 18 Rank 19Rank 20 Rank 21Rank 22 Rank 23Rank 24 Rank 25Rank 26Rank 27Rank 28Rank 29Rank 30Please note that there is 1 mistake on the grid. Rank 14 should say Dodge a Lightning bolt from 100 ft, not 1000 ft. 1000 ft should be at rank 12. Attachments:

The first image is pre crisis so I would put that one aside. In the sequence, it looks like he got touched by the bolt (but it did not pass through him). But I can accept him dodging it. After all he does stuff no other MA can do or has done. Where do you think he belongs on the grid ?

I remember seeing Spider-Man dodge machine gun fire from 5 feet away before.... But Spider-Man is hard to gauge because of his spider sense. I believe his actual reaction speed was stated before. Was it 5 times faster than a humans?

Was it 5 times faster than a humans? He has been quoted in handbooks at 15x but in actual on panel quotes as 40x. He has lost his spider sense a few times and faught against villains who sidestep his sense e.g. Venom. Can we get anything from these occasions ?

@ erik - 15 times faster than a human based on handbooks (18 post Queen, 20 post Other), but comics have gone as far as to say he's 40 times faster. Were would Deathstroke go? What examples do we have of him dodging or blocking attacks ? He has dodged a bullet from less than 2 metres away after it was fired, he has blocked multiple bullets with his sword, and has reacted to speedsters on a variety of occasions (on one of them he kicked Kid Flash and said "you're fast, but I'm fast too"). He obviously can't react to any Flash character if they are truly going all out, an their exact speed the times he has managed to hit them has never been explicitly stated (even though one could see afterimages), but he seems landing hits when they operate at low Mach speeds, at least in my opinion.
Oh, and on another instance, Vigilante had him quite literally at point blank, but he ended up appearing behind her in between her pressing the trigger and the firing of the shot.

It's possible, but it could just be Marvel scaling things down a bit, more than likely. However, even with his spider sense intact, there are some showings in which his sheer speed is demonstrated. For instance, someone shot him from behind, his spider sense warned him, but Spider-Man intentionally did not move at all, until the bullet was within an inch or two before hitting him, in which case, he dodged. So, that's pure speed.

Morph; If you want to suggest some ranks for any characters please do. Big task = lots of hands for light load

@morph: Okay so if we are assuming Marvel just wanted to scale Parker back a bit and 15 is the norm now, what about that bullet dodging feat you mentioned?
A bullet (I am assuming it is from a standard pistol for the sake of simplicity) travels at 700mph. If it were aimed at the center of his head, he would have to move his head one way or another by approximately 3 inches at the very least. Now if he made this decision to move his head when the bullet is only 1 or 2 inches from impact......... would that not make his reaction speed 1050-1400mph?
Creator, you should probably check my math Mr. Scientist.

Iron Fist (Danny Rand): He still might have been poisoned at this point too, IIRC. Morph would have to shed some more light on that.
