Here is the grid for Mystic Influence. It ranks magic using characters by focussing on three key factors. 1. Energy Source: This identifies how the magic user empowers their spells. So they could draw on energy provided by other beings (the caster entreats an entity) to power their spells or perhaps they generate power internally or maybe they do both. The more powerful Mystics draw on power from many sources (or vastly powerful ones) and have less limiting factors to the amount they can draw on. Some limiting factors include only drawing on light magic or dark magic (or law or chaos). The level of energy that can be drawn on is ranked comparably to other grids i.e. energy level 25 equates to Strength rank 25 or energy emission / manipulation rank 25. 2. Adeptness: Adeptness deals with 2 aspects. Firstly the understanding the mage has of the nature of magic. Secondly the ease with which the mage has in manipulating the magic. Adeptness plays an important part because some mystics can make up for a lack of power source with their creativity and use of power. 3. Power Simulation: The rank that the mage can employ spells at. So for instance they could cast a spell that duplicated energy manipulation or any other power at the same rank. The ranking of characters works like it did for the energy manipulation power grid, in that the first 2 columns, Energy Source and Adeptness, are rated, added together and averaged. The characters Power Simulation is then rated and this figure is again added to average of the first two columns and an overall average figure is obtained. I know it sounds complicated but really its basic maths and somewhat like riding a bike ¡V stick with it and in no time you¡¦ll be fine (stabilisers are optional ) Magic using / mystical characters already identified to score are listed below. Please feel free to post links to scans that indicate info / feats for said characters so that ranking them becomes easier. Adversary Agamotto Agatha Harkness Alan Scot (the starheart being magic) Amanda Sefton Amatsu-Mikaboshi Amethyst Ancient One Andrew Bennet Anton Arcane Arcanna Ares (DC) Arion Asmodel Asmodeus Atlan Azazel Balera Baron Mordo Belasco Black Alice (Copies Magical powers) Blaze Bloodwynd Blue Devil Brother Voodoo Calculha (father of Arion) Castapella Chaon Child Chondu the Mystic Chthon Circe Clea Cyttorak Dakimh the Enchanter Dark Majestra (mother of Arion and Garn) Deimos Demons Three Diablo Dire Wraith Doctor Doom Doctor Druid Doctor Fate Doctor Mist Doctor Occult Doctor Strange Dormammu Dragon Lord Dragon of the Moon Dreamqueen Eclipso Enchantress Enchantress Etrigan Fauna (Felix Faust's daughter) Felix Faust Feron Forge Gaea Garn Daanuth ( evil brother and enemy of Arion) Great Evil Beast Grey Man Highfather Hybrid Ian Karkull Ibis the Invincible Jaina Proudmore Jakeem Thunder Jeannette (Same) Jennifer Kale Jinx John Constantine Kaluu Karmang Karnilla Kestrel Khalis (enemy of Dr Fate servant of Osiris) Kid Eternity Kismet Klarion the Witch Boy Krugarr Kulak Kulan Gath Lady Death Lilith Llan the Sorcerer Loki Lords of Order / Chaos Lorelei (Marvel) Lorelei (of Fairyland - DC) Lucifer Lunatik Lyta Milton Madame Xanadu Madame Zodiac Magik Magnus the Sorcerer Malekith the Accursed Manitou Manitou Dawn Master Khan Master Pandemonium Mephisto Merlin Merlin the Magician Merlyn Mister Jip Mixyezpitelik Modred the Mystic Mordru Morgaine le Fey Morgan le Fay Morpheus Mr Keeper Nabu (should be listed thrice - original human form, energy state and possessing the former body of Kent Nelson, different limitations in source ability for each) Naga Necrom Nekra Nekron Nemesis Neron Nicholas Scratch Nightmare Obsidian ( through both Starheart and the shadow realms like Karkul) Odin (Marvel) Pestilence Phantom Stranger Pixie (She knows a little magic IIRC) Prescence Rama Khan Raven Rintrah Roma Sara Pezzini Sargon the Sorcerer Satana Satannish Satanus Saul Scarlet Witch Sebastian Faust Selene Set Shaman Shat'ru (twice like Nabu energy form Kent body) Shazam Shuma-Gorath Sif Silver Banshee (Her powers are magic based) Silver Sorceress Sise-Neg Sister Sentry Sligguth Spectre Spellbinder Spellcaster Spiral Stygyro Surtur Talisman Talon Tempest (Garth) The Doctor The Sorceress (He-Man)DC The Weaver Timothy Hunter Totec (lord of Chaos) though I notice your listing the LOO/LOC as one Trigon Typhon Unity Ursula Urthona Vandeamon (renegade lord of Chaos) White Magician White Witch Wiccan Witchfire Witchfire Wotan Y'nar ( renegade Lord of Order) Zaladane Zarathos Zatanna Zatara Zauriel Zealot Zeus (DC) Zeus (Marvel) Zom Zor (enemy and bane of GA Spectre) Attachments:

Doctor Fate Source 24 draws from Lords of Order, and Lords of Chaos (courtesy of Amulet of Anubis) plus in merged state from human spirit and emotions, or mankind {Inza}) Adeptness 24 Helm gives wielder knowledge (previously through host now just magic "library") Power simulation 26 - feats include major reality warping, matching in mystic battle high end mystic power houses (Spectre, Totec, Ynar and Vandeamon alliance etc)
Overall 25
Arion Source - two ranks - 18 when power drawn from star , eventually in mystic spell to end Ice age drained his power dry. - 17 when established link to the many colored bands courtesy of taking from the weaver. Adeptness 18 even in his many depowered days (he often pushed his spells to the limit to win the day leaving him powerless for periods or needing to recharge) he was always able to defeat mystic powers through simple magics or usung their own power against them. Power Simulation 17
Overall 17.5
Phantom Stranger Power source 27 draws from all Sources )presence, LOO, Mankinds faith and hope) Adeptness 29 has shown on many occasions a greater knowledge of the mysteries of the universe than anyone other than the almighty. Often refers to things beyond the grasp of the greatest mages and is aware of everything. Dr fate (Hector) who had hidden his watching all mages from them could not do so to the Stranger and PS could simply cut off is view. When depowered in the 87 mini relying solely on his knowledge of magic he was still able to defeat Dark Lords of power. Power Simulation 19 Stranger is limited in what he is allowed to do by his role (in his words to be there in every man's hour of greatest need to help them choose the right path). His feats are limited to levels barely above Arion.
Overall 23
John Constantine Power Source 4 John only taps the "mana' around him manipulating the power in his vacinity. He has no talisman or familiar that would allow hi to wield greater power. Adeptness 20 John's renown cunning in the application of magic has earned him the fear of many of the greatest demons. It also earned him first the respect and then hatred of the First of the Fallen. The greatest of the angel host (Gabriel) or the powers of Hell (triumvirate) are not outside of Johns ability to defeat. Power Simulation 10
Overall 11
Calculha (Father of Arion) Power source 22 he drew from both light and Dark. drawing power from the dark realms even after his death. he was able to give Arion power in amounts during his depowered days Adeptness 20 even as a spirit beyond death he was able to guide his son in the arts of magic and give him ways to win when there seemed to be none. Power Simulation 21 Able to bring his son back to life after death even when he himself was a disembodied spirirt.
Overall 21
Doctor Occult power source 8 his talisman draws from a single dimension his other abilities inate Adeptness 18 one of the more knowledgeable earth mages without outside source Power simulation 15
Overall 14
Sargon ( John Sargent) Power Source 12 the Ruby of life with it's link to it's sister jewel the ring of life is a powerful source of mystic power Adeptness 18 The ruby allow John to reach out through dimensions and "touch" knowledge that would otherwise be beyond him. Despite not having the power to match Kulak himself this knowledge allowed him to know that Kulak could not posses the helm of Nabu because of the evil within his soul and that being reflected back through his third eye. He used this knowledge to transport a Dr fate just defeated by the Spectre to the feet of Kulak who then defeated him taking the helm and in so doing defeated himself. power Simulation 13
Overall 14

Doctor Strange (classic) Source 23 ( while he accesses almost any source through Agomotto he can at times take time to build power source) Adeptness 25 (possibly 26) his knowledge and sense of magic is almost without peer. the reason why classic Strange with Prep is such a beast Power Simulation 26 (there are some peak feats at 27/8)
Overall 25 (depends on whether you consider peak feats of Classic as standard power level
Shuma-Gorath Source 27 (28 in his own realm) Adeptness 26 Power Simulation 27
Overall 27
Daimon Hellstron (full hell powered) Source 23 Adeptness 21 Power Simulation 20
Overall 21

Spectre Source 28 He draws from the presence just as the phantom Stranger does, but where the PS can only draw from the LOO or mankind's hope Spectre can draw from any source of Magic. When the presence was missing he was still highly powered. Adeptness25 he has shown a greater knowledge than Fate on several occasions since he also lacks a physical form that mystic energies are moved through. The ethereal nature of his being means he can use greater energies directly without risking tearing him apart. Power simulation 27 (baring ridiculously amped levels like DOV, COIE etc)
Overall 26.5

Is Fate's power simulation 26 as this would put him at a similar level to Darkseid's energy manipulation and significantly above Alan Scott ? 4. Would Dr Occult's Power Source be rank 9, as he draws on a limited external source (the symbol) and also has internal abilities ? 5. I would simply rate Arion at an overall rank of 18, rather than using decimals 6. Phantom Stranger should have an overall score of 24, as I think we should round upwards.

Should Doc Strange's Power Source be rank 21 as he chooses to only draw on Light magic. The really only time he draw on Dark magic was when he went to Kaluuth to help him overcome Shuma Gorath (after which he had to go through a lengthy mystical cleansing) ? 2. Do you believe that Doc Strange has a higher Adeptness than Dr Fate (and I agree that Doc Strange should be around the 25 mark) ? 3. Some of Classic Strange's feats were very skewed (especially some of the early ones) against his more 'standard' feats (if you can use the word standard for what he does ) 4. I would have ranked Shauma's Energy Source at rank 28 as he does empower other spell casters (even though he does draw on other energy sources - death/bloodshed - outside his realm.

Should the Spectre's Energy Source rating be 29 as he can draw on like you say virtually any source of magical energy ? 2. Should his Adeptness be higher than 25 as he has semi-divine knowledge that permits him to know most things. So for instance should he be higher than Doc Strange and in which case, would he be a 26 or 27 ? 3. As he has battled the antimonitor (with the helps of other mystics) and even the Great Beast, I would have ranked his power simulation at 28 or even 29. Do you think this too high ?

I would simply rate Arion at an overall rank of 18, rather than using decimals 6. Phantom Stranger should have an overall score of 24, as I think we should round upwards. 1. That was drawn mostly from Classic Fate but with recent retcons the difference between all is less than it once was. All of the versions of Fate have drawn the same source and only really vary IMHO in adeptness. Classic Fate showed one of his best feats when he merged his wife Inza into the Fate entity giving the added power of human spirit to the sources of Order and Chaos normally employed. Since Kent V is now aware that the helmet is like a library of magic that only has to open himself to to know the right spells even without the entity of Nabu present, that would indicate that all were equally capable in the adeptness dept. This also sort of explains the natural affinity for magic that both Inza and Linda showed when they wielded the power solo. Without any of the training of their partners their feminine intuition obviously made them more intune with this. 2. I would have agreed pre the Straus Fate era story where the Kent bodied Nabu "grew". It became evident that Nabu had learned of forces beyond anything he'd previously known due to the "humility" of a mortal form. The Lords of Order and Chaos in their arrogance believed that they were the be end of all etc. Nabu because he accepted human limitation came to see more and make plans for more (the "child" that he would become). To put classic higher would IMHO not leave enough room for the LOO and LOC (who would have to be above him), the "grown Nabu" above them and still allow levels considerably above that for beings like Rama Kushna, Phantom Stranger, Michael, and Lucifer all below the Presence and Great Evil beast. 3 When you consider the many feats he's done on a massive scale i'd say yes. He has reality warped an entire universe (though I'll have to find the scan), remade the planet after destruction in his battles, moved planets with only his will, and many many more. 4. Actually now that you mention it I'm probably putting too much stake on his one pre Superman costumes adventure where he fights a whole dimension. That was with the aid of the Seven (and the only time we came close to "seeing" them). The only other time he comes across as being able to draw that much power is in Action comics in the mid 80's with Superman. he and Rose alternate to guide Supe's through various realms on an adventure, and he is depicted in this storyline as very similar to Phantom Stranger of the era. It's probably more like a 6 on "average" showing 5. fair enough 6. I thought Phantom Stranger should be higher, but I just can't justify a higher ranking for power Simulation. In adeptness I'd say he's on the level with Michael, Lucifer , First of the fallen, and say the Vishanti below Presence. But in power simulation even the rank I gave him is more alluded to than justified in feats. His knowledge alone combined with the power source (since we know he can't be destroyed even by greater powers) easily justifies that rank. Especially when you consider the feats he did have when depowered and fought Eclipso to a standstill with only his knowledge.

1.The fact that Strange "chooses" to only draw on light doesn't change the fact that he can draw on dark. I was specially thinking of his battle with Shuma when I cam up with that rank. 2. yes I do. Strange has the added advantage of everything the eye of Agamotto has seen without the character limitations of the "essence" of Nabu trapped in the Helm. 3. Strange has some mediocre (if you can call it that) feats but there are more than enough of the peak spread across a large time period to consider them in that level. It's much the same with fate's low end showings, there's just too much high end to disregard. 4. I was of two minds on that one, but that would almost imply he was 30 in his own realm (as there is a NOTABLE difference). I know he's supposed to be "omnipotent" in his realm but if he faces TOAA in his realm he'd still loose. Also where does that leave you to go with other forces definitely greater than he.
1. NO he has too many low showings to justify. Also there have been times when he has had to ask the presence before he was empowered enough for a task. This in and of itself suggests more limitation on what he can draw without it being "gifted" 2. No he has shown on several occasions to lack in knowledge considerably when compared to Phantom Stranger. His knowledge has been limited to the purview of his role. Other examples of this are in his classic battles with Zor where he was bested by the more adept magics of Zor. he asked the "voice" (as it was then called) and he was given the power to compensate. Again demostrated when the presence was missing, there were elements of mysticism clearly unknown to him. A final example would have been when Hector (Fate) was "Watching" all the mystical players. Spectre couldn't sense it where Stranger could. He would also not have been as easily lead by Eclipso in DOV if he was that adept, he would have sensed the nature and error of his actions. 4. 29 would definitely be pushing it. I even have a problem at 28. IN COiE the other mystics freely gave him their energy ( in much the way they gave it to Cap Marvel through Enchantress in DOV) I doubt he could have drawn all that power without it freely given.

Thanks for all the answers, I appreciate it I just wanted to follow up on the answers above, I think you are right about Strange, in that he can draw on Dark magic as well. I just viewed this as a conscious imposed limitation, one that he has really only bypassed once or twice. For Shauma's energy source rating, don't forget that many beings (Eternity, Living Tribunal) would be 30's and that these can then be further divided up in a Tier system for true cosmic power houses. So if you feel he should be a 28 then rate him as such. For the Spectres power simulation rating, I think the same thing applies as did for Shauma's energy source argument. He could be rated higher as other powerhouses might fall into the Incalcuble rank 30 and then be split up later.

Doctor Mist Source 4 (like Constantine only manipulates the mana around him) Adeptness 8 He was able to use magic to make himself immortal but only ever has a few prepared spells that he can do. Power Simulation 10
Overall 8
Lords of Order / Chaos (Amethyst, Amon-ra, Mixyezpitelik, Shazam, Shat-ru, Ynar, Kismit, Sister Sentry, Unity, Chaon, T'cjarr, M'Shulla, Typhon, Mr Keeper, Flaw, Osiris ) - Notable exceptions in this rank Nabu, Totec, and Mordru
Source 23 While each only draw fro their side of power, their lack of corporeal form means no limitations to the amount of energy they can draw from it. Many mortal mystics draw power through either Order or Chaos (if not talismans or familiars) to use great power without destruction Adeptness 25 Power Simulation 24
Overall 24
Nabu ( energy state) Source 24 ( he's shown times of drawing from Chaos as well as order) Adepness 26 Power simulation 25
Overall 25
Totec Source 23 same as LOO/C Adeptness 26 more cunning than the other LOO/C he uses the nature of his enemies against them. For example rather than as most LOC tried to destroy Fate he chose to empower the jealousy Kent's wife had of the Fate entity as an opponent knowing that if Fate destroyed her when Kent found out he would no longer be the lackey for order. power simulation 26 his feats greater than the rest of the LOC overall 25
Mordru Source 24 adeptness 25 power simulation 26

Dark Majestra
Source 18 She unlike her husband only draws from the dark realms adeptness 19 Here spells were enough to trouble her estranged husband Calculha and beat him from time to time power simulation 16
Overall 17
Garn Daanuth Source 18 taps the same sources as his and Arion's mother Dark Majestra Adeptness 19 he has all his mothers skill and talent being trained from a young age. Unlike his brother Arion he didn't have a period of his memory lost to loose any of this skill. Power Simulation 19. While he was defeated on a few occasions by his brother Arion, each time Arion had to use either a gifted enhanced power source or expend every bit of mystical energy to defeat him. In sheer power at normal levels Garn is the superior sorcerer.
Overall 19
Kulak
Source 26 Kulak draws on many sources of power including the worship of his own realm. Adeptness 28 his skill in magic was enough to best Spectre twice and defeat classic Dr Fate ( in only 3 panels) power simulation 28 he has destroyed worlds, possessed and controlled the entire population of earth from another dimension (his near presence near the wall to the dimension of E-2 caused brother to try to kill brother mother to kill daughter etc). His greatest feat was "almost" breaking through the binding of the presence that kept him out of the mortal world. He had opened a rift between dimensions to one denied him by a spell from the Presence empowered Spectre, if Sargon hadn't transported Fate to his feet before he made the rift large enough the E-2 dimension would have ended in Feb 1942.
Overall 28

Nabu (Kent Nelson Body)
Power 8 Due to the limitations of his physical form he could not wield more power than that without risking destroying his form and spreading his essence to throughout the cosmos. Adeptness 26 he was still Nabu with all his knowledge. power simulation 8 he never attempted any overt feats in Kent's body, even the spells he used against Wotan were more illusion than real.
Overall 13
Shat-ru (Kent's body) Source 7 Same restrictions as Nabu, but he had more reservations about drawing as he unlike Nabu had not taken such a limited form before. Adeptness 25 Power simulation 8 (as best can be determined. he only real had 4 feats in this form. 2 of which were when the human female he'd come to like were threatened)
Overall 12
Gray man Source 23 he draws on the emotional energy of all life (in so far as their dreams). Appointed in that role to maintain that energy for the Lords of Order as one of their main sources since they no longer seek worship Adepness 20 while he had done this for centuries it wasn't until he became tired of the role that he began to "play" with it and know what he was capable of Power Simulation 22
Overall 22
