Being allies, friends etc... it's not the same with having sex. yep it's a lot more serious, people who've never had sex don't often know this but sex is serious business. The flurry of emotions, instincts and sensations especially after years of tension doesn't give this story any credence. Revealing who he is to his friends who he knows he trusts is not even close to as big a leap.

LOL, I'm pretty young and i don't feel ready yet. don't rush it then, the worst thing you can do is rush it and ruin it. Thought, speaking frankly, your first time with someone will be almost 100% awkward Sex is like Kung Fu, you don't become a master until years of training. [quote author=spidey15 board=news thread=572 post=31310 time=1290389354 What a weird discussion...[/quote] Sex is a natural thing. I am an advocate that people should not be afraid to talk about it.

I do not think it was out of character for Pete to sleep with Felicia once. If I am not mistaken, they had something once upon a time as well.
I also do not think he is quite in the 30 range. He seems to me like mid-twenties. Even still, getting drunk happens. Even with people that are mature, responsible adults. Sometimes it just happens without trying. Alcohol is an inhibitor. You get enough in your system, you do not know you should be stopping. Plus from what I understand, he felt guilty afterward anyway.

Problem is not that he did it per say, the problem is the how, the when and the reason. And as with getting drunk, that is just something time and again we have been shown as something Peter would not do.
Character derailment.

That is the thing about people who do not have a drinking problem. It is character derailment unless it becomes habitual. If it is just a one time thing, then it was a flark up (which can happen to anyone including Spider-Man).

Peter only thought he was drunk. It was later revealed it was a non-alcoholic drunk (Unless there's another incident I've missed)

We really need a "LMFAO!" smiley... Because you deserve one for that statement. Until then, I hope this will suffice: ;D

This is corny.I guess Marvel's fanbase has become teenagers now because everything they do is a gimmick. They can't ever progress a character without sh#t like this....I haven't read anything good in current continuity aside from Fall of the Hulks and Children's Crusade.

No, character development is key to good storytelling. This wasn't character development it was cheap character derailment that had him act like a dumb teenager. BIG difference. If you are to progress a character make it make sense and be well written within a character's personality. Not OMD where he sells his wife to Satan and that bullshit where he gets drunk like a 16 year old frat boy!

Mary Jane is the one who actively made the deal with Mephisto, if anyone recalls.... Correct,Peter didnt want to make the deal with Mephisto,it was Mary Jane who convinced Peter their ''love was stronger than that'' and made the deal with Mephisto
