She's back, she's sane, and she... oh, dang Morph beat me to it. Yeah. Children's Crusade has been great from issue one. Ya'll sleepin' on it hard. I can understand though. The bi-monthly thing is weird.

The bi-monthly thing is weird. I just haven't been reading many comics as of late.I'll catch up.Children's Crusade had been very good (at least what i've read from it).

Gotta give Bendis some credit, New Avengers issue focusing on Mockingbird was pretty good.

Avengers #16 was pretty.....boring.
Basically just singing a sad song about Bucky and Steve's feelings.

I'm still pissed that Bucky was killed.Even though it's possible he will be back because most characters never die.I just feel like the death gimmick was overdone like 3-4 years ago. It's just getting insanely stupid now.Why the fuck are you going to retcon him back into existence.Build him up..get people liking him and then kill him again? It feels like the entirety of Captain America v5 after Cap's death was a waste.

Sounds awfully similar to Thor's story if they in fact kill him again as well next issue.

The other thing about killing characters off and bringing them back right away is it seriously diminishes the impact of their death. I'd rather they just stay gone for awhile.

It kind of ruins the impact of a death altogether. It happens too much. There was a time where superheroes didn't die...and when Superman was killed by Doomsday..that was HUGE.Now someone dies off of some random battle and then they just come back in some way that doesn't make any sense or is just a cop out and it's just becoming a joke.

Hey guys, does any of you have the Fear Itself: fellowship of fear handbook? I was wondering the kind of content they published about Kang Dynasty. Thanks in advance!

Some Avengers talk: Which is your favorite Avengers book at this point? I was enjoying the Academy more than the others, but I mostly dropped New and Secret after a bit. The main Avengers book is average, just haven't fell in love with the writing there.

Academy, Avengers, New, then Secret. Haven't really been reading Secret and I just picked up on New with Fear Itself. I still like the stories Bendis tells for the main team, and I'm really enjoying the mess outta Gage's Academy. Definitely the best book with the Avengers title on it.

I also like Children's Crusade, but it takes too long to wrap up. Looking foward to Solo Avengers, filling the void left by the Hawkeye minis is well received.

Oh dang, I keep forgetting about that book. Every time a new issue comes out, I gotta go back an' re-read the whole series, but it's been on point.

I'm reading Avengers, New Avengers and Secret Avengers and have been since #1 of each. Secret was my favorite when Brubaker was writing it, but it's probably Avengers, Secret and then New at this point. I read issue #1 of Academy and I thought it was pretty good, but I just have too much stuff on my pull-list. I hear really good things about it though.

Warren Ellis should have been writing one-shot issues of Secret Avengers from the very beginning. I like Brubaker and his issues set up the recurring villain, but Ellis' stuff is just so much better. Ellis just does sci-fi better than pretty much everyone and then uses the characters he has expertly. The art wasn't really to my liking in 17 and that always affects my appreciation for the story, but 16 and 18 were perfect in my eyes. I love the idea of Beast providing the science(-fiction) and gadgetry and Cap leading a rotating team into stand-alone adventures. Ugh, it's just good and I want more. Unfortunately this won't last forever especially since Cap is back to being Cap (though I guess he's still running Shield too and they could always chronicle things he was doing before he came back to normal even if he weren't), but I hope there's enough for it to be collected into its own trade.
