About three years ago I watched a trailer for an upcoming zombie game called 'Dead Island.' The concept was simple. You're stuck on a beautiful island during a zombie outbreak and you need to use everything at your disposal to survive. Sounds like Dead Rising, right? But this is a first person shooter and takes a more realistic approach, rather than Dead Rising's more cartoonish and fun take on the scenario. Without further ado, I present to you the beautiful new trailer for Dead Island.

Pshhh that's just the trailer where IGN edited it into chronological order  I think the 'Memento' style is more powerful (emotionally). |

If Hollywood already has it's hands on it to turn into a movie, must have a pretty compelling story going for it.
I'll certainly watch from afar if I get it or not. =P

Needs more bikini zombies. That and is it just me or is the main character somewhat religious "I have set you free!" or whatever when she kills teh zombies?

I'm hoping there are different characters you can choose. After all, they said there are 4 classes, but I'm not sure if that's limited to co-op  |

I have always thought a realistic zombie survival game was an amazing idea but I have never seen one hit this close to home. Usually you get the Duke Nukem-type guy that punches heads off and gun blazing through zombies like it is a classic Arnold movie.
Even Resident Evil has strayed into that type of survival game.

I was really digging the cinematic trailer, but the gameplay left me a bit cold. Looks nice, and I like melee, but the bulk of the combat looks like a Fallout 3 mod or something and the animations aren't very good at all.
It's still a ways away from being released, so maybe it'll shape up more to my liking.

The melee combat looks way superior to Fallout 3's system, imo.
