I was just speculating the 10 year period. Obviously, you can't prove that and I'm well aware than Mystic Gohan > SSJ3 Goku n the Buu saga.

I didn't mind GT. The plot holes were the only things that really irked me and characters being downplayed. It's not my favorite of the trilogy though. Toriyama-sensei even drew SSJ4 Goku for one of the Dragon Box sets.

My favorite moments of GT were the last episodes with Omega Shenron, the SSJ4 Gogeta and the ultimate spirit Bomb.

I think Akira could have ended Z well if there wasn't a possibility of GT.
So what are people's theories on why Pan couldn't go Super Saiyan?
My theory is because the gene that is required to go Super is in the Y chromosome. And a female would need to go Super Saiyan for his children to transform.

One of my (online) friends did a video on the top 10 Dragon Ball moments and he included both of our favorites as number 1 (the ending of GT). His YouTube account has been banned though for the copyright infringement but I still talk to him on anime forums. He should be back soon though.

From what I understand, they did not give her the ability because they had a hard time figuring out what a girl would look like as far as the hair is concerned. Which I always thought was weird. |

I don't think we have enough proof to really give an accurate opinion. If you take GT as canon, then Pan should be able to, considering that Goku Jr. and Vegeta Jr. were able to at the end of the series. Bulla is also not seen reaching that level. It could be that the females get the recessive trait. If you don't take GT as canon, maybe the reason is that Pan didn't have enough Saiyajin blood. Son Gohan is a half Saiyajin, and Videl is a human, so there could be a discrepancy with her blood heritage or not enough lineage. The female part is possible too, in correlation to inheritance. I'd have to check my Daizenshuus, but I believe Toriyama-sensei wrote that he didn't know how to draw a female Super Saiyajin. It could just be another internet rumor though. My hypothesis would be that Pan and Bulla's blood are too diluted to perform a Super Saiyajin transformation.

I agree with Henshin. It mostly had to do with her DNA. Not enough Saiyajin.

I do not think DNA has anything to do with it. The only people that did not have to work for it were (kid) Trunks and Goten anyway. It is possible that Pan just had to work for it like most everyone else did.
