Deus Ex is finally back!
The third effort (developed by Eidos Montreal) is a prequel to the original. The setting will be 2027, just 25 years before the first game. You'll play as Adam Jensen, a private security officer who undergoes nanotech augmentations and attempts to unravel a conspiracy.
Thankfully, interviews have revealed this title will be heavily inspired by the first game. It will be a shooter/RPG with numerous paths along the course of the plot.
So, what do you guys think?

The game is slated for a late August release on the PS3, X-Box 360, and PC.

If it's like the first in quality it will be awesome. If it's dumbed down and poorly done like the second it will suck.

All that I've seen of it has looked pretty good. Digging the amount of choice in the gameplay (and no RPG stats in the shooting mechanics, thank lord) and the amount of ways to tackle scenarios and dialogue and all that. And I like me some cyberpunk. So yeah.

"choice in the gameplay (and no RPG stats in the shooting mechanics, thank lord)" I'm a HUGE fps fan, but surprisingly enough I liked that aspect. It really forced you to specialize in certain weapons (and therefore tactics) instead of just being a jack of all trades in regards to weaponry.

Not just a shooter with upgradable gear and some minor stats boost. You take that away and it's not Deus Ex. Thats one of the reasons Deux Ex 2 sucked.

More like 30 mins of the worlds most boring French-Canadian. I mean holy shit it takes him 15 minutes to say "Yeah, you can expand your inventory."

I haven't watched it yet, but I plan on ignoring them anyway on focusing on the gameplay. The previous video I saw with commentary was bland and treated the viewer like they were completely new to video games.

I can't help but feel like the slow pace of the commentary is giving me a really negative impression of the game. That said, I'm still going to pre-order this/ask for my birthday.

Makin this a prequel gets around the fact that the Steam version of Invisible War doesn't freaking work on my computer, nicely.

Watched the trailer in the OP.
Looks like Crysis 2. I thought it looked great, but in the end it wasn't a very satisfying experience for me.

Yeah just watched that 12 minute video. Getting a lot of Crysis 2 vibes here, except they are trying to be slightly sneakier.
