Assassin's Creed will probably be the game I wait on. I already put $5 toward a GoW preorder so I'll just pick that one up when it comes out.

CoD is just more of the same. Sure, it's epic and fun, but come on. No way I'm spending $60 on that. And I really just want GoW for horde mode, so I'll wait.

Lol.
katz come back online I need to talk to you about Deus Ex.
It's fun so far and I'm getting hooked. Couple problems:
1) I have 4 Praxis Points, with number 5 and 6 coming soon, but don't know what to spend them on haha. Haven't done any augs yet.
2) Realizing that for the first mission, going "non lethal" and "long range" was a bad choice.

1) There's no wrong choice. The game calls for multiple play throughs, so don't try to get everything at once. Focus on a mindset for the character and go with it. I restarted as a lethal/aggressive character, so I'll have a focus on durability, accuracy, power attacks, etc. Meanwhile disregarding cloaking, hacking, etc. Next play through I'll go pure stealth, then social, then hacker. 2) hahahaha. All depends on how ya act. The tranq gun is epic in the right hands and play style.

Lol. I like sneaking around, but I also like killing people.
Quite the dilemma!

I'm sure you can mod a weapon of choice to be the ultimate stealth killing machine. I know there are silencer mods, and if they're taking after the first game, there should be a scope mod, too.

Man, I did that Police Station up Terminator style.
The only problem is that I killed Chet Wagner too, and he was part of a side quest. It didn't say failed or anything, but I don't want to waste a Praxis Point to get to hacking level 2 just so I can hack into his computer for nothing.

I modded a regular 10mm Pistol with a Silencer, Armor-Piercing and Laser Sight mod and it was pretty tricked out by the end.
You can also use ammo capacity mods 3 times on a weapon, meaning you can take an assault rifle from holding 20 bullets to holding 50 bullets per magazine. Pretty dandy in a firefight.

Yeah, I love how I have like 3 side missions or so all in that region. Anyway, about half-way through that mission is when I decided to restart and have my first play through as lethal/commando, instead of stealth / non-lethal. Non-lethal was taking forever, but it's extremely satisfying.

You know it's a good game when you feel bad about stealing from some people. I went to Greg Thorpe's place since he wanted to thank me. Went to the bedroom, moved the painting, broke into his safe and took his cash, lol.

Lol.
I don't exaggerate when I say I did that Police Station up Terminator style. The top floor was really easy because you could hide and kill from the expansive vent shaft system. The other floors were a little different. I just took cover in the stair well and killed them all like that basically.
I'm using the "Give Me A Challenge" difficulty, by the way.
About mods...I was originally going to drop the pistol, then when I was at Adam's apartment, you get that armor piercing mod for it so I'm not letting that thing go.
Is the Combat Rifle worth holding onto and dropping multiple mods into?
I'm not sure which I'll put the laser sight or silencer on. I was thinking about making the combat rifle diesel as hell. Haven't even used it yet, but I have over 100 rounds for it laying on the floor at Adam's office.

Ahhhh I love all of the ties to the first game. In Brooklyn court someone is whistling the theme to the first, and the bball court w/ basketball and 2 dudes was in the first, too. Btw, score a 3 pointer and you get an achievement/trophy.
Yeah, the vent system makes things so fun for stealth kill/KO then dragging bodies in. I'm playing on that difficutly, too. I dropped the 10 mm (since you find them everywhere) and only keep a pimped out combat rifle (silencer, laser sight, damage upgrades), revolver, and combat shotgun. Those fit the current style I'm using (aka commando mother farker).

Where did you get a revolver? I haven't even seen one, although I have picked up ammo for it.
I don't think it needs to be a 3 pointer, I got the "Balls" achievement from swishing one from about 2 feet away.
Lmao yeah I feel like such a spider (a la Shelob) when dragging bodies into the vent.
So are you not using any stealth augs? Which have you upgraded so far?

I got the revolver from the hostage situation. Since I'm playing as a heartless commando type, I killed him before he could pull the trigger instead of talking him out of it. No, no stealth augs this play through. I'm focusing on durability, strength, explosives, etc.

I actually talked Sanders out of it and let him go, so we'll see where that goes and if that has any reprecussions. And I didn't save the people in time with the gas, I was looking around the room not knowing what was happening.
But at this point in the game I was still really noobish and I chose not to fight Sanders because I thought he would kill me, and that's a really long loading screen lol. Seriously, wtf is up with that loading screen?

Is it just me or does it seem like editors are trying too hard to not sound like fanboys? The game is getting amazing scores, virtually always 8.5+, yet the majority of the reviews attempt to focus on (what I view as) rather minor flaws. Average AI (I don't recall that being mentioned in CoD, GoW,AC,etc), not top notch graphics, simplistic boss battles (which are few and far between in comparison to the rest).

Haven't read any reviews except the IGN one.
I think the graphics are great aside from the character models during cut scenes. It still shocks me how studios still can't get people to look or act right with game play graphics. For example, Deus Ex characters' ears actually have no depth. It's so distracting.
The AI seems decent to me so far. They might give up the chase a little too soon, but I haven't played enough yet to really tell.
