I was disappointed by the finale.

I thought most of it was fantastic. It was just the finale with Amon that left me disappointed. 1) There are still some unanswered questions about him. How does advanced bloodbending give him the ability to take powers away? Did he even survive for that to ever be answered? 2) He was set up for the whole season to be this near-invincible opponent whom we knew nothing about. I was expecting him to be an evil being from the Spirit World, kinda like Ko, trying to throw the real world out of balance. He's still cool and all, but it was slightly disappointing to find out he's just a super-advanced prodigy bender.

I'm sort of having trouble figuring out Amon and his motivation now. He's supposed to be obsessed with fairness and equality, nobody being more powerful than anybody else. But Tarrlok also said that Noatok reveled in his newfound power when he learned bloodbending. And when Tarrlok didn't want to leave with him and abandon their mother, Noatok looked down on him for being weak.

I got a new theory though. We saw the Aang take away a power last time, I think this Avatar will be able to give their bending abilities back. Boom.

Maybe he is Amon and blood bending is away of stopping the bending? Boom!

I think looking back Amon blames bending for his descent into depression. He was happier before he learned he was a bender, or at least that's how it looks to me.

Anyone think that Mako is just a poor man's Zuko?

Anyone think that Mako is just a poor man's Zuko? He's just a generic dark-brooding-guy-with-whom-the-female-protagonist-will-inevitably-fall-in-love. At least Zuko had some originality to him. "My father disfigured me and banished me from the kingdom. My only chance of getting back is to complete a mission that is basically impossible. While I'm out trying to complete it, I will learn more about who I really am and who the bad guy really is." Whereas Mako is all like "My parents are dead and stuff, so now I'm an angsty teenage pro-bender who can apparently get two girls simultaneously while my brother, who is actually cooler than I am, gets zero."

I noticed that, too. The creators described him as "always having a lady on his arm" but he never did.

Also, why are the benders in LOK so toned down?

Also, why are the benders in LOK so toned down? I noticed that in Bolin and Mako in particular. I thought it was because they learned all of their fighting in the restrictive pro-bending arena. Comparing Bolin and Mako to people like Toph and Zuko would be like comparing professional boxers to real-life scrappy street fighters. They just don't compare because their usual style of fighting has so many restrictions and rules. Other benders from LoK, like Tenzin, Lin, and Iroh, seem to be basically on par with TLA benders.

Do you think any one bender from LOK could take Iroh or Bumi?

Do you think any one bender from LOK could take Iroh or Bumi? Amon, maybe. LoK hasn't really expanded enough to bring in any super-old megabenders like TLA had. I'd say that's largely due to the restrictions that staying in Republic City has put on the show.

I'm really curious about what Book 2 is going to be titled.
A:TLA followed the "Water, Earth, Fire" series because those were the season in which Aang learned water, earth, and fire bending. Book 1 of this series is called "Air" because Korra learned air bending.
But... she's mastered all of the four elements now, as well as the Avatar State. What's left?

What could they possibly fill it all with?

Well, now they can have the benefit of knowing they'll get them episodes showed allowing them to have a lot of foresight. So they can focus on Fire Nation for a bit while gradually brining another villain into the mix.
