Yeah, so I'm kinda sorta maybe a Thor fan. Started off reading his second volume and have been following him ever since. I loved that Lord of Asgard thing because it really hit the nail on the head as to why it would be a bad thing for some divine entity giving everyone everything they wanted. Great story, and I recommend it to anyone looking for a good read.
Current Thor's been goin' pretty well, too. I liked that whole going to Hell arc, and am interested in seeing how the current story will unfold. Loki's back kinda sorta, and there's some weird race trying to conquer the nine worlds.

I'm really interested in this current arc that is unfolding. It is boiling up to some big explosion and battles. Also, it appears Odin is coming back next month I think. I'm excited to see Thor dealing with off-earth matters as well.

Did anyone read Astonishing Thor #1? Would like to hear your thoughts...
Also, Thor #618 comes out this week. Seems like Odin is coming back. Looking forward to this issue as I am every one. Something epic is happening soon...

Yeah, the first issue of Astonishing was cool. Mike Choi once again proves his beastliness with things. Gotta say, the story in itself looks like it's going to be amazing. I'm still not sure if it's as open to new readers of Thor as much as they want the Astonishings to be, but I think it does stand as a good thing to draw people in. Looks like it's definitely gonna be cosmic in scale, and that's always a plus with me.

The last thing I read of the Ultimate universe was the Ultimate Venom arc. After steaming pile of shit Ultimates 3 and Ultimatum was. This was the last time I ever read any new marvel stories, even in the ultimate universe (whom I preferred to the 616 one actually)

There have been several arcs Venom featured in, but I presume you mean War of the Symbiotes.
I admit to having lost interest after Ultimatum, as well. And I did love the self-contained consistency of the Ultimate Universe very much, too.

No I went the first arc where Ultimate Venom is introduced. That was years and years before Ultimates 3/Ultimatum, though. There are tons of good stuff in between.

Yeah I know, but I had stopped picking up spiderman before it came out as I was working on catching up with a few superman trades.

If you ever wish to drift back to Marvel at some point, you should try the Ultimate Spider-Man trades in between.
And I'd obviously recommend Millar and Hitch's Ultimates in case you have not read the two volumes in their entirety.

I've read the two first volumes of the Ultimates, loved it. Part of the reason I hated Ultimates 3 and Ultimatum so much.
Honestly thought. Marvel is behind me now. I've moved on from that.

@caine and Nexus
Yeah, I liked the first issue. Cosmic Thor is so much more fun compared to Thor on Earth. The art was great even though for some reason they are doing another Thor title without inks. I wasn't aware "Astonishing" titles were supposed to draw in new readers. They did a pretty good job of explaining things that would probably be difficult for new readers to understand (Ego, Stranger, Heimdall, etc.) Even though there wasn't much of a plot, it was the first issue and I think it it lining up to be a ton of fun.
