@crom
I've read the first two issues of Ultimate Thor (the new series) and it is good. Several fun story lines from separate time periods each having an impact on each other. You should check it out if you like Ultimate Thor. This is actually the first Ultimate stuff I've read.

I am thoroughly enjoying Loeb's New Ultimates with Thor right now. Loeb was responsible for Ultimates 3 and Ultimatum. I refuse to invest money in any product that might help him keep his job. Plus like I said Marvel is long behind me.

@crom
Jonathon Hickman is writing the Ultimate Thor series, not Loeb. I think jakefury is referring to a 'New Ultimates' series which is written by Loeb.

Yeah no, every movie I've ever had the gut would suck has sucked, mortal. My powers of perception have never failed me in such matters.
And looking at the scenerio and synopsis every sign points to yes.
Not that you mortal fan of Thor would admit to this.
But the divine Crom-Cruach speaks only truth.

Lol alright divine crom. Being a fan, I would be the first to say I didn't like something about it, or it looked bad. Also different from being a blind fan boy. Not sure which scenario and signs you are speaking of, but the synopsis is basically adult Thor's origin story to comics and modern earth.

Lol alright divine crom. Being a fan, I would be the first to say I didn't like something about it, or it looked bad. Also different from being a blind fan boy. Never said you were, and my tone was when I went on the god thing was obviously for entertainment purposes. But fans of characters as I've observed often have trouble seeing how bad the movie of their favorite character is until it's too late and have paid money for it. Not sure which scenario and signs you are speaking of, but the synopsis is basically adult Thor's origin story to comics and modern earth. The magic is technology where I come from part is a dead indicator of suck. The published premise where he falls in love with a mortal and that's why he becomes a hero is also not a good sign as it is a worn out tired cliché. And Asgard doesn't look anything like it should.

I realize that which is why I said Lol and joked back alright divine crom. Internet is tough to convey sarcasm/jokes sometimes. No I disagree. Many people (fans) have no problem saying bad things about every single other comic book movie. Spider-Man, X-Men, Superman, and all of the bad ones too obviously. Fans are the biggest critics of their own favorite characters' movies. "Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic. " -Arthur C. Clarke Quite an assumption and even if true who says it won't work well or even in a new way. Also, this relationship is faithful to the comics. What 'should' Asgard look like to you? If JMS' run, then no. But I leave you with a picture of Jack Kirby's Asgard, which Kevin Feige has stated repeatedly, that the Thor movie is directly influenced from the Kirby and Simonson Thor.

The Thor movie looks like it's gonna be awesome. Heh, it's funny because this is actually the main thing that got me interested in the dude. I mean, his comics were on my to-do list for a bit, but when the rumors went out an' about for Thor like last year or so, I really delved into it. Can't wait to see how it plays out in the movie-verse. The Destroyer armor looks crazy.

The trailer doesn't look bad.I don't want Idrfs Elba in the movie though.He sticks out like a sore thumb because he obviously don't fit in Asgard.

"Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic. " -Arthur C. Clarke Yeah, Arthur C. Clarke never understood what magic is and neither did he understand why people like stories of magic. It's part of why his stories were never for relaxing read. You're just proving my point. Quite an assumption and even if true who says it won't work well or even in a new way. Also, this relationship is faithful to the comics. It a cliché it's everywhere in fantasy fiction and on to many occasions it is not used very well. What 'should' Asgard look like to you? If JMS' run, then no. JMS's run of Thor established an Asgard that actually felt a lot more like the Asgard of myth. That is a good. But with all respect to Kirby, his Asgard looks to much like a Fourth world domain for New gods and that is not good.

I'm still hyped for the film. Destroyer blasting everything away, Odin is Anthony Hopkins cha ching and Thor looks like he's going to be a power house when he's smacking the ground leveling around him.
The only thing I'm not a fan from the Teaser and This trailer is the noises Thor's punches and kicks make, sounds a little B list for me, but again 4 months of editing to go.

Haha yeah, the sound effects for Thor's kicks/punches in that particular fight scene don't really sound right. Hopefully they will change them.
