It looked to me like he went straight through Galactus' head.
I couldn't quite tell what happened in the panels after, but it seemed to me that Thor flew and grabbed SS and then they crashed on Mars. Yeah that's a pretty good durability feat, especially since Thor said it didn't hurt him at all.

I thought Thor broke portion of Galan's helmetwhen he flew onto him, hence the pieces falling left and right. It seemed like Surfer was the one who grabbed Thor and then they crash landed on Mars.
I don't believe Thor wasn't hurt at all. More so saying it in response to the Surfer's "that hurt; even me". It was his way of saying "piss off, high and mighty".

The way SS has been acting the past few issues (like a baby) it wouldn't surprise me if he was hurt a bit. Thor may have been saying that in response just to act tough, but regardless if he did that or not, he was able to just shrug it off and attack him.

Indeed. Fraction stole a page out of Pak's playbook, the Surfer got shocked he got hurt, much like he got shocked out of tasting water. I hope there's a breaking point where he'll say "flark this" and starts fighting seriously. Thor is incredibly focused on the task, while he's seriously slacking so far.

Silver Surfer is straight up embarrassing right now.

I think that's more so Fraction's doing as opposed to SS's fault, but I try to view it from an in-continuity perspective.

Man, Odin vs Galactus was so epic. I love the route that Fraction's taking with this. This is how gods--real gods, not that epic folk hero stuff Hercules and Thor have got patented down--should go about fighting. Yeah, it's a TP battle, but the scale is just so much more. I love every minute of it. You get to see where they came from, where they're headed, I really got the sense of--this is taking place on a higher plane of existence, and that explanation given was just too tight. The only other time I remember Galactus being this well portrayed on the cosmically abstract scale was I think in a Marvel Adventures Spider-Man issue. I gotta find that scan but it was basically like Galactus came to earth, and all the super heroes were trying to stop him, but the issue made it a point to say, "how do you stop an abstract?" and had Galactus essentially reality warping on multiple planes, attacking heroes minds an' junk. That's the kinda stuff I've come to like most about abstracts. That "I'm so many levels over your head, you don't know what's goin' on" kinda thing. Brilliant.
Really lookin' forward to finally seeing Surfer and Thor clash though. That last page was tight. I feel like I'm constantly gettin' teased, an' teased. Time for these guys to really throw down.
Volstagg's still holdin' the fort down, an' Loki's still on his interesting little mission. With all the cosmic stuff taking place, I wasn't as interested in that particular thing in the story as I'd wanted to be, but still it was nice. All things said an' done, I'm left satisfied over the issue, but at the same time really wanting more. This is why I typically prefer trades because the wait is really takin' it's toll on me.

I would absolutely love characters on that level to really start being written as consistently on that level, and performing feats at that level. There is virtually no reason why Galactus should lose to ANYONE or any amount of characters below his level.
I like how Fraction gave mad props to Odin in this issue power wise. I would just in general love to see writers be more creative when it comes to super powerful characters and their power sets. Silver Surfer is the best example. Odin, Thor, Galactus, etc are good examples too.

Yay and yes Galactus should be depicted like that a hell of a lot more often. Good stuff.

Ha! Equal to Thor's level of power and exceeding that my !@#, take that homefront. Either way there are about a million ways their deaths are going to either be undone or prevented, we do have at least two skyfathers running around to revive them. Edit: Just add: Hulk vs Thor count: Hulk koed x1 Hulk killed x2 ( That is if he dies in Fear Itself)

I'm reaIly looking forward to this. I hope Thor kills the Hulk too and show him what power really is, because it's about time he's written as such a bad ass, thanks Fraction! Thor better not lose this fight.
But yeah, Thing won't stay dead. And I'm sure when Thor kills the Hulk too he'll come back.

I'm sure he will, Fraction has been so far very kind to Thor when it comes down to his fights. Given Franklin Richards is on the recap page there is a good chance if they are revived it will be by him come to think of it. If not him, then Odin or the Serpent. Sin and Juggs are the only Worthy that are likely to stay dead.

Did Sin and Juggs die in a tie-in?

Did Sin and Juggs die in a tie-in? No but I'm pretty sure Colossus is going to be murdering Juggernaut and Sin is going to die sometime in this event. Not much point of keeping her around after and who cares enough to bring her back? I'm expecting most of the worthy to kick the bucket or get depowered, whether or not that they come back from the dead is up to the bigger players on the field.

Well I guessed one thing right at least for this book. However I am depressed Thor didn't murder the Hulk. Shame shame.

I'm more so disappointed that he was in the verge of collapsing while Hulk was hurt, but not KOd despite being hammered to orbit. The admission that he can't beat Hulk, and he never could, all the while not 10 days ago Fraction had him say he wouldn't mind killing Silver Surfer is asinine. Still, fighting a very much upgraded Hulk along with the Thing and winning was a great feat, despite those annoyances.
