That information hasn't been released. I'd imagine it'd be competitive with other MMO's like WoW, Rift, etc.

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic 1 and 2. RPG. Both set a few years before The Old Republic will be.
The Force Unleashed 1 and 2. Action. Both set between Episode III and Episode IV. Pretty awesome graphics and gameplay. Not a bad story. TFU2 is absurdly short though.

Pretty awesome graphics and gameplay. Not a bad story. TFU2 is absurdly short though. Beg to differ. TFU 2 had a horrible story and completely raped continuity. The games are good. TFU 1 was alright as a story, but there were details throughout the book that just made no sense. TFU 2 is fun as a game, but as a story, it was a severe low point. There was never even a reason for it. It was written out of nowhere just to siphon money out of fans of TFU. I also hear that there was supposed to be a TFU 3 to follow the second, but it was canceled, leaving that horrendous ending a major plot hole. -_-

@silver yeah I meant TFU1 had an ok story. TFU2 was pretty garbage. It needed to be about 3-5x longer.

That and clarify whether the Starkiller you play as really was Starkiller, explain what happened to him afterward, and not have Vader get arrested by the Rebellion. The dark side ending to TFU 2 was so[/i][/b] much better. Kota dies, Starkiller dies, and that last Starkiller clone Vader sends after the Rebels could just be assumed to have died early on its mission. With everyone dead, there is no question about what happened to them, and it compromises with continuity better. For once, I actually wish dark side endings were canon.

Dude, to be honest I was much more interested in actually being Vader's apprentice. The heck was up with Galen Marek anyway?
"I'm a Jedi now! No more being a Sith puppet for me!" *uses Force Lightning to obliterate the first person he comes into contact with*
Surprise bitch, Jedi don't kill people with electrical attacks.

That was one of the things that just made no sense about the story. Haden Blackman was the lead writer behind TFU. I usually really enjoy Blackman's Star Wars works, but he screwed with TFU. The first was not terrible as a story but not great either and had some problems in it, like Shaak Ti giving off a Dark Side Burst when she died ( ). TFU 2 was just completely unnecessary and should be retconned out of existence.

@silver Honestly I think TFU2 was made with just enough content to fill trailers and get people to buy it. It didn't feel rushed. The game was very polished gameplay-wise. It just wasn't up to par in terms of story or length.
I agree, there really was no point. I think TFU wasn't the best SW story but it was fine as it was. It certainly didn't need a sequel. The same game engine set after the NJO era with a new character would have worked just fine and opened up the potential for story development much more.

You know the Sith Empire is really tempting for when SW: TOR comes out. I mean who wouldn't want to be a badass Sith Lord rolling around the galaxy in your starship, mowing down enemies of the Empire. The problem? honestly I'm too nice. Plenty will say "Hey, it's just a game." Sure, it is. But that's also my avatar and I'm just not the strangle puppies kind of guy. I think I'd end up being a badass looking Sith Lord who ends up doing nice things. Like this.

ROFL.
Dark side paths are fun the way Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction is fun. Emulating that type of conduct is out of the question, that goes without saying, but in a game world, it is fun sometimes just to take your RL stress out on some undeserving bystander or even your own team.

I think a Sith character would be very interesting to play as. I think the TOR environment is more or less perfect. Because it's story driven and the direction of your quests is decided by your dialogue it could really be the ultimate Sith experience. Apparently you can even use Force Choke and Force Lightning as dialogue options. I mean if you're a Sith Warrior you could really act like Darth Vader and just choke anyone who pisses you off. As a Sith Inquisitor/Sorcerer you could really play out the backstabbing, manipulative type of Sith.
It'd be great fun, but I'm not sure I'd find it rewarding long-term. Personally I seem to gravitate toward good guy/paragon of justice type dialogue options and have trouble being a hardass for any extended period of time.

Dane: Interesting. I was unaware of that. In KOTOR, you could use Affect Mind in conversation but Choke and Lightning sounds interesting. Sith sorcerer sounds like Sadow and Sidious type Sith, i.e. prep masters who make their enemies look like idiots and make it look easy. Awesome. Makes sense.

@silver Sith Sorcerer is an advanced class of Inquisitor. It's basically a ranged lightning/drain attack specialist who uses a single saber. Apparently their more devious/manipulative nature is expressed in dialogue. I know for a fact that there will be lightside/darkside points. The more darkside points you have as a Sith the better you'll be at using your darkside force powers and the darker conversation options you'll have open to you.
The MMO will be just like KOTOR in conversational terms. All quests will involve talking to someone and the conditions of the quest or additional rewards may be opened up or altered depending on what conversation options you have. I wouldn't be surprised if there is a Mind Trick option for Force-sensitives. But I have also heard a Smuggler for instance can often use his guile and charisma to negotiate higher credit rewards for quests.

All of the classes seem to be attractive in their own way. Most of the polls on the website seem to indicate a really good balance of which classes people are interested in playing. Almost a even spread, same with the factions. I guess all there is to decide is which faction we should play together
