I know, I know. The title itself seems to contradict itself. In reality there is most likely no chance of such an event ever happening, and even if it does we may as well throw all our prior conceptions based on fiction right out the window.
However laboring under the assumption that we all have sufficient imagination i would like us all to contemplate what it would really be like, and how we would truly react given said unbelievable situation came true and assuming that all other facets of life remain the same.
We often contemplate zombie situations, but I think much of what we converse over is wishful thinking. The more you think about an actual situation in which this might occur the more you see it's not a cut and dried answer you could give in some situations. We all like to say we'd do this and that, but when confronted with such a situation I hardly think it's as easy as we make it seem. There are so many things to take into consideration.
For example suppose you turn on the tv and a the news tells you a zombie outbreak has been reported in Texas. Will you believe it? Will you assume its a practical joke? Will you run out and buy survival gear and pack for the apocalypse? Will you assume if it's a small outbreak the government will take care of it? if you live across the country or in canada would you wait to see how/if it spreads, or would you go out and start preparations right away?
You see it's not as easy a thing as we make it out to be to decide to withdraw all your money from banks, spend it on supplies and board yourself up in your house. What if you were to do that and blow your life savings, and the zombies never reach you because the military wiped them out or some other unforeseen event? What if you quit your job in preparation of a world of apocalyptic survival, only to find the outbreak has been contained?
What do you think?
