Have any of you read World War Z? In it, the virus spreads across country lines due to the black market. Money ultimately spread the virus through human corruption.

What sort of Zombies do you prefer, Erik? Romero Zombies, 28 Days\Weeks Later Zombies or the Left 4 Dead type zombies? I never really cared for Romero zombie movies. Zombie movies are hard to pull off well because it is about gore and shock value rather than quality acting or character development. 28 Days later is not a zombie movie but it did introduce us to the concept of "fast zombies" at least to the general public. 28 Days later are just diseased humans. Just like Zombieland. Another movie that does not really have zombies in it. Zombieland was just a mutated mad cow disease and the infected are not really dead, just covered in sores and crazed due to brain inflammation or something along those lines. Nevertheless, Zombieland and 28 Days later are great "zombie" movies. Too bad 28 Weeks Later was trash. My favorite true zombie movie is the 2004 Dawn of the Dead remake. I am not really into video games so I have not played Left 4 Dead but I grew up on Resident Evil. Those were fun. All around, the best zombies by far in any medium is The Walking Dead comics. No one does the zombie stuff better.

I've read it. I really liked it, but by the end it went a little down hill.

Ask most boys my age what would they do if zombies were real, they'd say: ''Take out a gun and shoot them all.".

I thought this would be a good thread to see if there is interest in any more "practical" type survival threads based on say economic or societal breakdown, catastrophic disaster, solar flare.....etc.
