I'm kind of lucky I read Cable books when I was young I had no expectations of art.
Truth be told there are quite a few issues I haven't read, so you may be right. But I do remember him being augmented and Cable has said plenty of times that Stryfe was physically augmented.

I know many would want Storm at least in the honorable mentions. Get out of here, Storm fanboy.

Magneto seems like he should be an Omega.

Magneto seems like he should be an Omega. Hence the mention. Ability to manipulate magnetic fields on basically a global scale and the ability to manipulate other EM radiations extensively. He is basically a living unified field theory.

He is basically a living unified field theory. Interesting point. He also reached out into the galaxy to pull Kitty back to Earth. We do not know how far he reached, but the simple fact of the matter was the bullet was about to obliterate an inhabited planet in some other solar system before he got his mitts on it. Not only that but upon reentry, he dissolved the city sized bullet to prevent it from doing any damage.

Yeah there was that time where he was fighting some sort of character made out of energy and he controlled their neutrons or something too. I know someone in her knows what I'm talking about.

Yeah, that's right. He controlled her electrons. Basically ripped them out of her body. That was really cool.

Magneto should be an Omega, IMO, but no one has officially referred to him as such, therefore he does not meet the qualifications set in this thread. The closest thing we have is his handbook entry stating his power is, for all intends and purposes, limitless.
Magnus hasn't fought Proteus aside from that particular instance, so that must be it.

Magneto does indeed deserve it, though. Apocalypse - while powerful - does not, since the bulk of his power is due to augmentation through Celestial tech. Far as I know, he isn't that powerful without his tech. He just has basic strength, durability, etc. But nothing really impressive.

Found a direct reference to Jean being an Omega in Endsong as well as the Shi'ar stating that Omegas can be suitable hosts for the PF.

Alpha the Ultimate mutant should be on the notable mentions list. He demonstrated telepathic, tk, matter and energy control abilities beyond those of most other mutants.

I question that simply because if I remember right, Alpha was a creation of Magneto's. Would that not put him in some kind of subclass that Longshot and Shatterstar have? That is assuming Alpha is even X-Gene positive and not just some bio-engineered human/mutate.

Others to discuss,
New Son (Alternate reality Gambit) - displaying crazy levels of kinetic energy manipulation
Proteus - reality manipulation.

Fair enough. But has he demonstrated power and control with his abilities that far outstrip those who DO share similar abilities?
Proteus seems like a possibility but which version? I understand that 616 is not nearly as powerful as some alternate universe version I have heard of.

Fair enough. But has he demonstrated power and control with his abilities that far outstrip those who DO share similar abilities? I would say yes because of my memory of him but I will look for the proof. I was focussing on the 616 version. In his first appearances he was changing the reality of at least several city blocks of area at the same time. Since then his power level has grown. Although that does not sound much area by comparison to some energy manipulators on a global scale, reality manipulation stands above basic energy and matter manipulation we see from many potential or confirmed omegas. He is extremely skilled in his power, causing the gravity down the length of a single street to reverse or tip through 90 degrees. We could list alternate dimensional proteus's if you so desired. That raises a basic question about new son then. Should we list alternative reality versions but only those that have interacted with the 616 core reality ?
