I guess people do actually like to look and not touch. I'm considering on who to touch as we speak. ... Boy that came out wrong.

Both sentence sound wrong. Which other way would it come out of?

Which other way would it come out of? I now have a mental image of typing on my keyboard with my butt. Damn you SM! I gotta say the debate got a lot clearer once you sorted out the map issue. Dane's team is pretty neutral and they rely on their abilities and teamwork to push and win a conventional style engagement. Beat's team is considerably different. They're built around a specific battle plan they intend to follow and everything about them is devoted to accomplishing it. Naturally then much of the debate revolves around whether or not Beat's plan can actually work. It's a pretty big gamble. If it works, Beat wins, if it doesn't, his teams seems to have little chance beating Dane's in a conventional engagement. I'm reasonably convinced Beat's team has a pretty good chance of pulling it off, but I gotta give it to Dane in the end, simply because a lot more would have to go wrong for him to fail.

Thanks phantom. it is a gamble wont deny it. In my experience gambles pay off the best tactically as they are far less likely to be prepared for. that aside frankly i find it more fun to come up with a creative scenario like this than jusy a fight

I'm quite the opposite actually, I rather hate scenarios. That's mainly the reason why I don't participate in these types of threads. But I must admit you made a pretty good case.

It seems universal that Dane has this in the bag.
Sorry Beatboks. Terrible luck, that.

I always enjoy facing either you or demanwalkin in a tourney. Make me come up with the best angles. I'm now thinking I would have had a LOT better chance if I'd made the few changes to my line up that I'm suggesting in the CV one www.comicvine.com/forums/battles/7/badass-capture-the-flag-tourney/746318/?page=last#reply_form . Would have still played the same angle but been less dependent on everything going my way

I think a really balanced team is needed either way. Six and Solo were both good but they had too much overlap (i.e. you used them both to achieve the task either could reasonably perform) and Nikita was a pretty great selection. I think if you replaced Gabe and John Matrix for some really top tier combat specialists you would have been on the money for sure. You said you made your team solely around your strategy and that was true for Six, Solo and Nikita, who seemed like well chosen specialists, but Gabe and Matrix just didn't seem like they could bring as much to the table. Also, what works in real life is rarely what seems convincing in debates. It's very easy to historically prove that dividing your forces is a bad idea. Everything from World War II to Scooby Doo teaches us that dividing leads to defeat. Even if the context is different, most people have the mindset that military forces shouldn't divide unless it's some sort of sweet pincer maneuver. It's a lot easier to play to what someone already thinks its a good idea (even if it's subconscious) than it is to teach them something new. To my mind, your longshot may have been the best possible plan but it still seemed like a really heavy gamble. It was a great match though. I had a great time

That's why Beck ( the role the Rock played in Runaway) would have been more useful than Matrix. Did much of the same stuff but better feats and fought armed guy's unarmed a lot more, plus much better h2h feats. Micheal Weston would have been better than Solo because he could have made bombs out of left over aid in car batteries and car electrics etc, and again much better h2h and much better marksman. Christopher Chance would have matched any player (if not beat) in h2h, knife fighting and marksmanship plus can also make rudimentary weapons out of things lying around. I could have had Six to the defenses alone and these three could have taken all five down in the JY with ease. Chance's durability would easily match Van Helsings so he could have made it back to base with all the gear.
TBH after picking Nikita, six and solo I couldn't think of any other characters at the time ( not a big movie watcher). So i was left trying to think of a guy with durability to cart a heap of gear across the desert, and another who could single handedly hold a special forces unit. Those i chose were all I could think of at the time to fill my gaps.
