I was under the impression he could change at will from his Silver skin to his human looking skin, but it's been a while since I've read it.

I had seen a few scans where he changed from the silver skin to human looking at will but I am not an expert or anything to be sure.

Praeter sucks, and he is basically a glowing Silver Surfer.
